Nesto Scour | Oxidizing Agent

  • Product Information

    Highly efficient substitute for peroxide bleaching. It’s a strong oxidizing agent for use in bleaching. It exhibits a range of desirable properties which gives it multiple uses in the textile pretreatment process.

  • Key Features & Benefits

    • Does not result in flammability problems in contact with moisture as compared to traditional peroxide-based oxidizing agents.
    • Non-hazardous based on the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard.
    • Exhibits good storage stability, with a shelf life of about two years if stored in an airtight container.
    • It is very economical to use compared to traditional peroxide-based oxidizing agents and may generally be used at 1/4 to 1/5 the addition rate.
    • Fully biodegradable.
    • May be used in vat color oxidation on cellulose and protein fibers, clearing, and cleaning processes associated with most dye classes.
  • Application

    Guide Recipe 1 - Scouring of Synthetic Fabrics:

    • Nesto Scour: 0.5 – 1.0% on the weight of fabric (O.W.F.).
    • Caustic Flakes: 2.0 – 5.0 grams per liter (Quantity depends upon the quality of fabrics).
    • Soda Ash: Optional ***

    Guide Recipe 2 - One Bath Scouring and Bleaching of Cellulosic Fabric:

    • Nesto Scour: 1.5 – 2.5 grams per liter.
    • Nesto Wet 951 Conc.: 1.0 – 1.5 grams per liter.
    • Caustic Flakes: 2.0 - 4.0 grams per liter (Quantity depends upon the quality of fabrics).
    • Soda Ash: 0.5 - 1.0 grams per liter.

    Note: Nesto Scour exhibits different solubility, activity, and stability characteristics depending upon pH conditions, type of activation alkali, and time/temperature parameters. The following graphical information is provided for general guidance.
