NESTOL- PWA | Wax Emulsion

• Product Information

  NESTOL PWA is a stabilized paraffin wax emulsion that serves multiple purposes:

  • Imparts a smooth and soft feel to the treated cellulosic.
  • Improves the surface luster of the treated cellulosic.
  • Acts as a waterproofing agent for cellulosic, silk, and woolen fabrics.

• Application

  Predilution: Start by stirring the material in 3-4 times its weight of water at 40-50°C and then dilute it to the required concentration with warm water.

  1) For Softening of Cellulosic Fabrics or Yarn:

  • 5-10 gpl NESTOL PA
  • 10-20 gpl NESTOSOFT NIS

  2) For Improving Lustre (of Cotton Yarn & Fabrics):

  • 5 gpl NESTOL PWA
  • 5 gpl Maize starch
  • 1 gpl Borax

  Impregnate the goods in the bath and then dry. Finally, condition and calendar the piece goods.

  3) For Water-Repellent Finishing (of Cotton, Linen, Wool, Silk, and Rayons):

  • Impregnate wet goods with 40-60 gpl NESTOL PWA at 50-60°C for 20 min.
  • Hydro-extract and treat with 40-60 gpl Aluminum Acetate at room temperature for 20 min.
  • Then dry at 110-120°C. For Rayon, the drying temperature is 80-85°C.

• Advantage

  • Imparts excellent softening properties to cotton and rayon textiles.
  • When used alone or along with non-ionic/anionic handle modifying agent, it can produce a supple/soft finish effect with good pliability and luster.
  • Can be used for waterproofing cotton, linen, wool, silk, and rayons.

  • SOLUBILITY: Readily dilutable with water
  • COMPATIBILITY: Compatible with starch, CMC, PVA, dextrin, glues, gelatin gums. Stable to hard water.
  • STORAGE STABILITY: Stable when stored in normal storing conditions
  • STORAGE PRECAUTIONS: Store away from heat and always properly capped.
