Antifoam - DF | Concentrated Silicone Defoamer

  • Product Information

Antifoam - DF is a concentrated silicone based antifoaming agent which is to be diluted before application it is stable at inside range of pH.

  • Key Features & Benefits

    • Stability Across pH Range: Maintains stability within a broad pH spectrum, specifically from pH 4 to 10.
    • Effective Foam Control: Demonstrates excellent persistence in foam control.
    • Dilution Stability: Shows outstanding stability when diluted in both tap and demineralized water. It remains stable for a minimum of 5 weeks at 2 percent active content in tap water, as illustrated in Figure 3.
    • Easy Dispersion: Facilitates easy dispersion within aqueous systems, enhancing its application flexibility.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Adheres to essential chemical control laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
    • Enhanced Antifoam Performance: Exhibits improved antifoam performance, particularly at higher temperatures.
  • Application

Potential application areas encompass wastewater treatment, industrial cleaning, chemical processing, and textiles, spanning processes such as scouring, sizing, post-finishing, top, hang, and continuous dyeing.

  • Specification

To enhance dispersion in the foaming medium, it is advised to dilute Antifoam Emulsion with water prior to use. A suggested starting point is a dilution of 1 part Antifoam Emulsion with 9 parts of water. The preferred method involves adding water to the emulsion, avoiding the reverse process to prevent excessive shear. It is crucial to exercise caution and prevent undue stress on the mixture. Pre-process testing is strongly recommended to ensure optimal performance. For effective use, a suggested starting concentration is 50-100 ppm of the active ingredient.

  • Advantage

A 100 mL foaming solution, consisting of 1% DFT X 100 in water, is carefully dispensed into a 250-mL bottle. The bottle is securely placed in a wrist-action shaker and subjected to shaking for a duration of 120 seconds. Subsequently, the time taken for the breakdown of the formed foam is meticulously recorded. It is important to note that shorter breakdown times signify superior antifoam persistence, indicating the effectiveness of the solution in mitigating foam formation.
